United front for disaster relief: DND, Chamber of Mines sign MOU for enhanced coordination

The Department of National Defense’s Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines (COMP) have joined forces to strengthen disaster relief and recovery efforts across the country.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by OCD administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno and COMP chairman Michael Toledo.
This agreement aims to integrate mining companies into the OCD’s national disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) network.
Through this partnership, mining companies will play a more active role in coordinating and assisting with disaster response during times of crisis.
This collaboration will leverage the resources and expertise of both parties to ensure a more efficient and effective response to natural disasters across the Philippines.
