Full resumption of production by Philippine mining companies still subject to quarantine requirements

The Philippines, one of the world’s largest suppliers of nickel ore, said that mining companies have been able to operate with full loads as the country began to relax its COVID-19 prevention measures, but they still had to comply with strict safety procedures and quarantine requirements.
The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) said all cargo ships arriving in Philippine ports must strictly comply with a 14-day quarantine period starting from the departure time of the ship’s last port of call before arriving in the Philippines. At the same time, no crew member was allowed to disembark during berthing in Philippine ports.
